The Babydoll Game – The Elomi

I’m not a huge fan of the babydoll … I prefer my lingerie to be structured, my waist tightly cinched in and my boobs lifted to my chin!  Basques and corsets are what I have lusted over for years and expect I’ll continue to do so till the die that lingerie is simply no longer an appeal – which will most likely be the day I die.
That is not to say that the Babydoll is not a great piece of lingerie that all should wear.  When first meeting my now-husband, I invested in a great dark purple babydoll for floating about his bedroom in.  I felt girly, free, and sensual.  I have since misplaced this fantastic piece of lingerie, god knows how or where, so I thought I’d invest again.

With a free delivery coupon in hand, I headed to ye-olde-faithful of fuller busted lingerie Figleaves and began perusing what they had on offer.   They had a wonderful selection but, unfortunately, very few came with built in bra support.   Nevertheless, three slinky little numbers arrived on my doorstep by the end of the week.   I’ll only be featuring one of them today but be sure to check back mid-week for number 2!

The Elomi Maria Underwired Babydoll

By far my favourite is the Elomi Maria Underwired Babydoll.
The 36G was generously sized and roomy in the back band.  I love the sheer ruffles that fall around my hips and the way it parts at the front to reveal a hint of flesh – unfortunately, you can’t see this overly well in the photos.
The Maria is a good length tin the body and skims my bum cheeks nicely – a must for any babydoll.
It is also very comfy, which isn’t always high on my priority for lingerie but is certainly welcomed and enjoyed.  I found myself swirling about in the frills of material and dreaming of being a 50’s housewife or a character from Mad Men.  I would even consider sleeping in this … which is shocking as I normally refuse to wear anything to bed other than some very tiny silk french knickers.
My only criticism of this babydoll is that it really doesn’t give you the full, lifted look that I prefer.  My boobs are a lovely rounded shape but they sit lower than I like and there certainly isn’t any cleavage.
Unfortunately, as this babydoll is £60, it is a little too expensive for me to keep when I’m not entirely satisfied with the fit.  For this reason, I’ll be returning this flirty little number.  However, it will be perfect for girls who aren’t quite so use to resting their chin on their boobies when tired.
The quality can’t be faulted and it really is such a fun piece!
What do you think of this babydoll?  Would you give it a try?

  1. Hi Simone,

I think you'd find something that looks similar for less money but the £60 is worth it for the quality of the make. You'd be hard push to find something as supportive and well made as this for the money. It's purely that the shape isn't for me – which is a crying shame as I love everything else about this babydoll.

    C xx
