Elomi Bijou Soiree – Review

I love a lace covered bra and, after having a great experience with the Elomi Bijou in black, I knew that I’d love the Elomi Bijou Soiree that comes in a completely adorable vintage lace pattern.

The black lace detailing of the bra is laid over a beige moulded cup that offers a deep plunge whilst maintaining quite a bit of coverage on the chest.  The cups are supported by fairly wide and comfortable straps and a wide back band closed with a 3 hook-and-eye closing at the back.

As you can see, the beige mould of the cup gives the impression of a sheer panel which adds a real sexiness and va-va-voom to what is, essentially, a t-shirt bra.

The wide back band gives really great support and comfort when wearing this bra and the 36GG fits me very well.  As you can see, there is very little in the way of squashed back fat and my boobs sit nicely encased in the cups.

I would say that in comparison to brands such as Curvy Kate and Panache, the Elomi sets do come up larger in the cup size.  I am currently wearing a H cup in CK and Panache so would suggest taking a slightly smaller size in the Elomi if you are used to shopping with either of the other brands.

The bra gives my boobs a really great full and rounded shape that looks great beneath tightly fitted tops.

However, unlike many traditional plunge bras (such as the Jessica by Tutti Rouge or the Freya Deco), the bra doesn’t give the most in terms of cleavage boosting uplift.  The shape give by the Bijou is more subtle – the wider central gore means my boobs sit more naturally and I really appreciate this look for everyday wear.

The bra is priced at £50 on Figleaves but can be found on sale at House of Fraser, albeit in limited sizes.  I would say that the bra is a little pricey but Elomi is a quality brand and their bras do tend to last the duration – given this, I happily paid the £50 and would again if they bring out this bra in new colours and patterns.

The bra comes in sizes 34F – 42H.  If you take a 44 band then Elomi create this bra in a 44E-44G.

For reference, the pants aren’t the matching pair but a simple pair of Sainsbury’s basics.  I did have the matching pants and they are really quite beautiful but they unfortunately tore in the wash and I’m awaiting a replacement.

  1. Hi just got this set after hunting for a long time in the Red/Watermelon 44F had the black set a long time&yes a superb design once worn a few times it feels so comfortable to wear&like the fact that get no side issues either as im wide set/rooted.
It is a tad big in the cups &pretty sure the black was in 44E? where as most others like Cate/Raquel/Anushka & goddess Kayla etc im an F but found moulded cups in others come plus a bit.
But it does look a stunning set and Elomi do have something for all/everyone as such a great brand.
