Welcome to part 2 of my lingerie essentials!
I have already covered a good quality, supportive plunge bra so, for part 2, I thought I’d share the complete opposite – a full coverage sports bra!
The Panache Underwired Sports Bra is a new addition to my wardrobe – bought for my recovery fitness regime of yoga, pilates and basic weight lifting. I’m hoping that, as I ramp up my fitness, the bra will see me through squats, kettle bells, spin classes and, most importantly, horse riding.
I’m wearing the 36GG and it fits me almost perfectly. There is some slight gaping at the top of the full coverage cups but I have bottom heavy boobs so it’s pretty normal for my shape!
The wide back band is incredibly supportive and the adjustable straps, with added racer back options, really increase this support. The straps are slightly padded at the front which really helps with comfort when swinging your arms around and stops them from digging in like some other sports bras have in the past.
What I really like about this bra is the prettiness – it’s a rare occurrence in a sports bra that actually offers adequate support when doing an pogo stick impression (don’t do this when on crutches you’ll only end up on a heap on the floor like I did). I love the purple and grey palette and the lilac piping! The bra does come in other colour palettes too, some vibrant and groovy, some pretty and feminine – and I love them all!
The bra also gives a really uplifted and rounded shape to my boobs. This is really refreshing as sports bras tend to look like ugly boulder holders (this is my new favourite expression – you’ll be seeing it a lot) that compress your boobs down into lumpy rocks. This bra does not do that – I mean look how round and perky my boobs look!
The bra is also super comfy – I’ve actually taken to wearing it as lounge wear in the evening!
Now I have to admit – I have not rigorously tested this bra! My current health means that the excessive cardio and high impact exercise I used to do is simply not possible right now. However, I have done many hours of yoga and pilates in this bra. I’ve also done sits up, planks and other floor exercises. During all these activities my boobs have not moved – this is looking good for future, more rigorous, activities and, on this basis, I seriously recommend this bra as a lingerie essential that all women should own.
The bra is priced at £40 so not the cheapest on the market but is worth every penny if it stops my breast tissues from stretching and weakening during exercise.
