Every girl’s wardrobe should have a really good strapless bra – now I have two already. They both did the job and I did, on purchase, recommend them to for adequate support, but they aren’t quite anything on my latest strapless!
The Curvy Kate Luxe Strapless bra is designed to lift and support your boobs whilst maintaining comfort – something that is very rare in a strapless bra! So many strapless bras dig into uncomfortable places and leave red marks on my skin when I take them off. That or they don’t maintain the support for the evening and my boobies end up swinging unmercifully around my hips when I hit the dance floor.
I’m wearing the bra in a 36GG and it fits me very well, suggesting the bra is a little more generous than the Daily Dream where a 36H was needed to encase all my bra tissue safely in the cups.
The back band is also firmer than in other CK styles where I’ve been between sizes (why don’t brands do a 35 back?). After a few wears the 36 inch band fits me perfectly but was a little tight feeling to begin with – it did take a little bit of breaking in but, after 4 or 5 wears, the bra now moulds perfectly to my skin and actually sits a little higher on my back than pictured here.
The band is fairly wide all the way around and sits nice and high beneath the armpit which means all my misplaced bra tissue (from years of badly fitting bras) is moving nicely back into the cups where they belong.
If, like me, you are between back sizes then I would definitely suggest erring on the side of caution and ordering the larger size!
Now, this bra won’t give you an amazing cleavage, I’m not sure any strapless bra will if you’re over a D cup, but it does offer some really great support. I swung my arms about like a crazy person and danced like a loon and the bra did not move!
Normally, I have to line my strapless bras with double-sided boob tape to stop them moving about when I’m being a little more energetic so it’s really refreshing to NOT need to stick this bra to myself to gain the same level of support needed.
The bra also offers really great round shape. The moulded cups, reinforced with some cheeky boning, really does create a rather perfect looking sphere beneath your blouse/dress – even with my slightly asymmetrical breasts. It’s nice to feel close-to-perfect sometimes!
The bra is priced at £32 and is actually a multiway with removable straps. I don’t really ever wear one shoulder tops but the option to create crossover straps may well come in handy come summer give my growing wealth of crossover camisoles.
