I’ve been slowly but surely falling in love with printed trousers this year.   Now I’m fairly late to the printed trouser game – having only started to embrace tailored cigarette pants and capris at the end of last year it took me a while to progress on vibrant prints and bold patterns.

Last month, with a trip to San Francisco pending, I invested in a pair of vintage-inspired cigarette pants with a bold dogtooth pattern.  I was nervous – having been scorned by dogtooth pants in the past, but it turns out I needn’t have been.

Printed Trousers - Review of Tall & Plus Size Trousers

These Dorothy Perkins Tall Gingham Skinny Trousers (also available in regular length here) are a delight.  Made from a soft and stretchy fabric they are high waisted and actually reach my ankles!

I’m wearing a size 18 but, to be fair, probably could have been sized down to a 16.  The stretch in the fabric means I’m fairly certain the trousers would encase my thunder thighs and the waist (when worn without a belt) is characteristically huge on me!

Since buying, I’ve worn these trousers in true pin-up style with pin-curls and a bardot body, for work with a blazer and courts and as I’ve styled it here, casual with a camisole and vibrant cardigan!

They really are so versatile and I’m thinking of trying the whole crop top and heels combo with them next time I go for a girls cocktail night (they have been far too elusive since last years illness).

The trousers come in sizes 8 – 22 but only have 14-22 left in the tall (and 6, 10, 20, and 22 in regular) and are currently on offer for a measly £16.72 (and only £22 originally) so I recommend, if you’re after a pair of vintage inspired ginghams, snapping this up quick!!!!

  1. Ohh these are lovely! They go really well with the red cardigan, I think I might have to look out for a pair for myself for the summer! x

  2. These are so cute, you look gorgeous! I want to see your vintage look with the bardot top and pin curls too! I almost never wear trousers these days and worry that I’d feel under dressed in them these days but I think the gingham and the narrow cut of the leg means they’d always look stylish! I might have to give them a try!
