Being a blogger outside of London and working full time can be a bit frustrating – I miss out on so many press days and events because I simply can’t get the time off work.
It means that that, when finally, I managed to get a day of work to attend the Elvi A/W Previews, I was more than a little happy!
Held in the forest room of The Hospital Club, just a stones throw from Covent Garden, the room was filled with some of the most gorgeous clothes I’ve seen for a while.
True to form, the shapes were kept sleek, made from simple, classic lines and timeless piece after timeless piece were made bold and fashion forward with texture, embellishment & my favourite – leather accents.
I can’t decide which is my favourite piece, the full leather skirt with dipped hem (which is going to be perfect for nights out drinking cocktails paired with a sheer blouse or crop top) or the monochrome print pencil skirt with leather trim (perfect with sharply tailor blazer and polo neck for the office).
I think you’ll be seeing both in my wardrobe come autumn!
Other highlights include the reptile textured waterfall blazer that I’m wearing here (cigarette plants and a camisole will look divine with this) and the leopard print jumpsuit which Elvi have promised to be just a tad longer in the body than the A/W 15 jumpsuit that I lusted after so much.
I also love the Chanel-esque mini skirts in chevron and waffle – I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of both of these.
I also got chance to see the very minimalistic new Hayley Hasselhoff range which is truly beautiful. We weren’t allowed to take pictures but the items were almost oriental in shape and each were cut perfectly for the fuller figure (I’ve been promised that there won’t be a peeking bra in sight for this collection).
Hayley herself is even more beautiful in real life than her pictures and seems very lovely – she even told me off for calling my crutch ugly (well it is!).
It was great catching up with fellow blogger Kat Henry before heading for lunch with Hayley of Curves & Curl. An extra huge thank you goes out to Kat for supplying me with so many of the photos seen above!
The collection is very grown up and each piece has a slight edge – I really can’t wait to get my grubby paws all over it!
