It’s summer … and therefore bikini season!   Well, we have a few days of warmth and sunshine so hopefully I’m not being too optimistic packing my bikini ready for my Cornwall holiday next weekend.

Earlier in the year, Panache were kind enough to send me their Anya bikini to try out during my spa break in Budapest (I review the bikini here and the city here).  I thought all black was perhaps a bit classic for Cornwall where surfer vibes require a twist so I decided to mix and match with some patterned pants from ASOS Curve.

At first, I was skeptical about wearing cut-out pants.  My own body insecurities to focus on my hips – I’m not quite over the years of people commenting on the size of my hips or those dreaded dress moments when the material tears when trying to wiggle it over them.

I was pleasantly surprised though and I like the cut out panels – even if they’ll give the most peculiar tan lines possible.  I also really like the bold geometric panel that compliments the cut-out sections.

The pants are a size 18 and come up nice and high – being lycra, they have a fair amount of stretch to them but do run fairly true to size.

The white cover up is also from ASOS and I love it – i can see wearing it as much with pretty dresses and jean and camisole combos as much as with a bikini.  The material is ultra lightweight and very breezy.

I’m wearing a size 18 from the straight range but it’s very generous and would easily fit several sizes larger.

I’m wearing flip-flops that I bought last year from New Look but, unfortunately, won’t be wearing them this year.  My dodgy leg means I need more support and I feel over several times whilst trying to move in these.

Now we just need to pray I get good enough weather to wear this in Cornwall – fingers crossed!
