I have a habit of featuring the most beautiful of dresses on this blog. However, the majority of my waking days are spent in trousers. Now don’t get me wrong, I love my pretty dresses, but lately I’ve been living in smart casual trousers – the type where you can throw on a chunky int for off-duty style or a sleek blazer for a more polished look.
These Studio 8 Mila trousers are perfect for just that.
Made from a lightweight cotton blend, these 3/4 length capri pants are perfect for summer. They’re super high waisted, cut with a straight let, and feel great against your skin in the warm summer weather – so much so that they’ve become a staple for my work wardrobe (our offices are unbearably hot at the moment).
The navy and white geometric print is very bold and I did wonder if it would emphasise by thunder thighs a little too much. I needn’t have worried and actually love the fit and form of these trousers.
The high waist means these don’t slip down over your hips flashing your knickers (a peril of most trousers I own). It also means they look equally as great with a body or tucked in top if you’re after that vintage feel (follow me on Instagram and you’ll likely see exactly what I mean).
I’m wearing a size 18 and they are very true to size, fitting beautifully on my hips and gaping at my waist. I perhaps could have sized down to a 16 if I’d wanted a snugger fit but I preferred the slightly relaxed leg for summer wear.
I’m wearing the Mila trousers here after a rather long day in the office – I love the stylish elegance of wearing these with a sleek blazer and simple camisole. The camisole is also from Studio 8 and is the under camisole that sits beneath the Fiona top – you can see that in all its glory in a later blog post!
This is very much a go to look for me in the office and I wear similar looks in multiple ways whenever possible. Perhaps, I ought to do a capsule wardrobe post on it sometime?
The trousers retail at £69 which is reasonable for such a great and versatile pair of trousers but I realise this is more than a lot of people like to pay for an item. They’re currently on sale for only £35 in size 16 – 26 so get them whilst you can!
