Hello my lovelies! How are you?
Did you see this weeks Plus Size Boudoir & Body Confidence post? Well today I’m going to be reviewing the beautiful Louise Ferdinand set that’s featured in that post.
Louise Ferdinand is indépendant British lingerie designer created by the super talented Sandra Palmer. Started in 2014, the brand has quickly made a reputation for beautiful, opulent designs with fantastic attention to detail.
The Grace Bra is a gorgeous soft cup bra that comes in 28 – 28 A – K – I mean seriously, what a size range! Huge round of applause to Sandra for inclusiveness here. So few independent designers go above a G cup let alone above a H so seeing so many bras available in a K cup is great to see. The matching briefs run from a 8/10 – 20/22.
I’m wearing the 36H and it fits me pretty perfectly. The central gore sits flush against my sternum and the back bands sits nice and low on my back without too many fat rolls spilling above or below. The cups are filled with no dreaded over spill suggesting the cups to be very true to size and in line with mainstream lingerie designer, Curvy Kate.
The bra is made from beautiful ivory lace with a satin trim and a tiny little baby blue bow that nestles in the central gore and at the front of the briefs. The briefs are made from the same lace at the front and an ivory mesh material at the back. I would have preferred the lace to carry through to the back of the brief but I’m being picky here!
The bra gives a very vintage shape to the breasts – offering great uplift whilst creating a slight (and it is very slight) pointed shape to the breast. This would be perfect for all those plus size girls desperate for a little bit of pin up luxury but unable to fit into the traditional vintage reproduction lingerie designers.
The pants I’m wearing are a 20/22 which suggest that the briefs to come up a tiny bit small – I normally wear a 18/20 and these are a wee bit snug on my hips so size up if that’s an option for you.
I really love the delicacy of this set and, if you follow me on Instagram, then you’ll already know that I’ve worn it a lot since receiving it. It is comfortable, practical, and cute as a button.
It falls under Louise Ferdinand’s bridal range and I really do think this would be am amazing option for a bride who is looking for a slight vintage edge – it even includes the something blue!
The set is priced at £60 for the bra and £33 for the knickers. This makes the set one of the slightly more pricier on the market but that’s not surprising given that it’s hand made from luxurious materials.
