I hate to say it, but it’s September which means Autumn is here – where has the year gone?
Now Autumn to me is kind of heaven in the wardrobe department. As much as I love summer sunshine, autumn fashion is so much more me. My wardrobe has the perfect excuse to retreat into inky palettes and heavily textured fabrics.
This Autumn, I’m loving the mix of leathers and suede interspersed with beautiful floral appliqués or embroidery and I’ve long since been coveting this wishlist ..
I’ve typically been very much a dress person in the past, but I’ve lately been falling for one pieces – I have a wardrobe full of pretty dress yet seem to be favouring tailored trousers & blouse combos or pencil skirts & bodies for a while now.
I think my wish list reflects this with just two dress making appearances this season and, shockingly, both of those are casual!
The first dress I’m coveting is this simple off shoulder sweater dress from ASOS Curve – I’m envisioning it on warmer days with plimsoles and a bomber jacket before switching the bare legs for opaque tights and chunky ankle boots as colder weather dawns.
It’s a little more casual than my normal attire but I’ve been feeling far more relaxed lately and think this is showing through my fashion choices of late.
I love the versatility of this New Look Curves tee – the embroidered flowers means that this is something I can pair with jeans, mini skirts, or even wear to work with a blazer! In fact, you may never see me without it!
I’ve been eyeing bomber jackets for a while now – the like of Danielle Vanier and Lottie L’Amour look simply stunning in them. Unfortunately, I’m not yet convinced I’m edgy enough for one. I may give it a go though – and this beautiful embroidered number will definitely be one worth experimenting with!
I love a knitted bodycon come autumn – especially when stripes are involved. They’re easy to just throw on for work or play and keep you cosy to boot! This Simply Be dress comes in two colour ways but, true to form, I’m drawn the one with a red stripe.
I love culottes, my Simply Be Culotte Jumpsuit has been worn to death this year and I think these Elvi beauties will see me through the autumn/winter office like the solid troopers they are whilst allowing me a little more versatility – I’m thinking cinched blazers, body hugging polo necks, and plunging camisoles. Who says office wear needs to be boring?
I’m a growing fan of oversized tunics and the blush colour of this River Island Plus tunic is a little more subtle than my usual stark white blouses. I’ll be pairing this with the p-leather trousers you’ll find a little further down.
A little bit sexy, a little bit demure – what’s not to love about this lace vest? I’ll be wearing it with everything from leather pants to embroidered mini skirts to skinny jeans. For day, I’ll layer with a camisole beneath but I like the idea of wearing this sheer for evening drinks.
I love leather (or p-leather) trousers and now that cooler weather is here I’ve already dug out last year’s burgundy pair (seen here) but feel a chic black pair are needed for a little extra options. This pair from Navabi are just what I’ve been looking for and I have no doubt they’ll be dropping into my basket shortly!
Do you have any A/W must haves? I’d love to hear about them – tell me in the comments!
