Did you know that Ann Summers does plus size? No?
Well that’s because it doesn’t – not really. Yet is does now have a plus size filter on their search. Sadly, most of the lingerie items don’t go above a size 18. The fancy dress items do go to a size 26 but I won’t call those lingerie – more themed toys. The good news is that some of the pants go to a size 22 and the bras now go to a H Cup (and I will review one of those bra’s at a later date).
So you can see, it’s not really a plus size range. More that they are shooting size 16/18 products on someone that is size 16/18. Yes, it’s refreshing, but no – it’s not revolutionary and I really would like them to bring out a real plus size range with beautiful items like this body, that I’m going to review below for you, in a greater range of sizes.
The Savannah body is a black mesh body with beautiful and vivid floral appliqués. The back is sheer and the front a semi-sheer.
The appliqués slink across the shoulder and wrap around the boob and are really bang on trend with the design (perhaps I ought to do a post on floral appliqués as I’m completely loving them this season).
I’m wearing a size 18 and it’s a pretty perfect fit. There is a bit of stretch to the material that means this may be able to accommodate a larger figure but probably no-larger than a size 20. The body is a little big on my waist – which means it’s fairly true to size.
The heavy mesh material also means that is gives a little bit of support for you boobs, not much – but enough to stop excessive bouncing when wearing this without a bra.
The back is entirely sheer – I really like this but I know that others don’t like the mix of the heavier mesh at the front and the sheer at the back and would prefer the body to be made either entirely sheer or entirely opaque. I understand this reasoning but I feel the divide means you can easily take this body out of the bedroom and into the bar. I’m already considering pairing it with my Bluebella Asteria and a black fifties full skirt that would be perfect for swanky Christmas festivities.
The body is very good quality, especially given that it only costs £30, so I’m seriously hoping they expand the size range and bring out more pieces like this in the future so we can all enjoy in their delights!
