A Winter's Tale – A Fairy Tale Coat

A Winter's Tale – A Fairy Tale Coat

Baby it’s cold outside!   As I write this I’m warming my hands by the fire cause the weather seems to have turned and winter seems to be here.  A must for any girl during winter, is a good warm coat.   Last week I shared my coat wishlist and suggested that the one I chose is something a little different to my usual … well, here it is!

Plus Size Coat - Collectif Lilian Coat

The Collectif Vintage Lilian Coat really is a winter’s fairy tale – full skirted with phenomenal sway, vampish cinched waist, cute-as-a-button buttons, and a peter pan collar all scream of the magic of a winter’s tale.

I have been wanting a full skirted coat for while; there is something wistfully romantic about them, but I’ve struggled to find one that lives up to expectations … until now.

Plus Size Coats - Collectif Lilian Coat

The Lilian Coat comes in this beautiful berry red that just screams Tsarist Russia, and I will be wearing this outside the Winter Palace in St Petersburgh come February.   I’m wearing a size 20 and it fits me fairly well, suggesting the coat to come up just a little small.   I wanted to size up to make sure it buttons well across my boobs and allows for a wooly jumper or two.   It does just that but is now too large on my waist to give the real cinched effect that the coat does have – I’ve gotten around this by adding a belt – the curvy’s girls most trusted accessory.

The coat sits nicely mid calf on my 5ft10 frame, so I would imagine it would sit even longer on smaller girl.   I like the added length, it means added warmth.   It also allows for the exaggerated skirt of the coat whilst remaining elongated in its line.   The length allows for the sway, and I promise, you will sway in this coat!

The coat is made from a heavy polyester/wool blend that means it offers a lot of warmth. It also continues to button up if you want a little more neck coverage – adding a faux fur stole or scarf will only add to the warmth and vintage appeal of this beauty.

The coat is priced at £137.50 so is not the cheapest on the market but it does come fully lined and is classic enough to never go out of style.   I’m seeing it is a good investment piece that doesn’t completely break the bank.

I honestly cannot recommend this coat enough – I love it!  And cannot wait to give it more than a thorough testing during these colder months.

I ruddy love this coat! It looks so comfortable and you look like a mega babe in it.
It’s kind of sexy, which is a weird thing for a coat to be, but the structure and the colour of it gives it some mega wow factor!
