It will come to no surprise to regular readers that I love the Playful Promises range – it’s is fashion forward, provocative, playful, sensual and (most importantly) it fits me! They’re one of the few ranges to do matching briefs and suspenders above a size 18 and they seem to be continuously expanding their range. This month, they have expanded some of their straight ranges so that they’re most popular items will fit from an A to a G cup, a 30 to a 42 back, and an 8 – 24 brief.
The Karine Lace set is one of the items included in this vast range of sizes. Its a moulded balconette bra with a luxurious black stretch lace overlay embroidered with gold and a matching suspender and brief set. The lace overlay on the bottoms fans out in a flirtatious little peplum and the bottom panel of the briefs is overtly sheer – I do love a sheer bottom!
Everything about the set screams luxury – the gold clasps and satin straps feel great against the skin and the suspender attachments are both delicate and sturdy, there will be no popping happening with these.
I sister-sized in the bra to allow for the sizing differences between my body and the PP range. I typically wear a 36GG/34H so upped the back size to allow for the smaller G cup; the 38G fits surprisingly well. I do have the bra on the tightest clasp on the back band and there is a tiny bit of gaping between the central gore and my sternum but my boobs are safely encased in the cup without any over spill and they have remained surprisingly uplifted and supported.
The size 18 bottoms and suspenders fit me perfectly – I cannot fault them.
The Karine is not the cheapest lingerie set you will find on the market – but it is possibly one of the most luxurious and well made. The ensemble as a whole will set you back £120 but I can promise you that you won’t regret a penny of that!
Now, like I said, I’m a big fan of this range, so I thought I’d share some of their other lust-worthy and new in items. All size ranges are included in the captions …
Which is your favourite of the new range? I think I may just need to invest in that Bettie Page Cage Basque … I mean, it’s kind of essential to my wardrobe!
