I love a full skirt – I realise that I have at least six in my wardrobe and yet still feel the need to buy more. They’re one of the most versatile of items – wear them for work with a simple shirt or for the day with a chunky jumper. Come the evening, wear them with a plunging body or, even better, a sheer body, for a little va-va-voom. This is exactly what I’ve done with the final of party outfits from my recent look book.
The full skirt is past season Elvi but still available to buy here. I love the subtle silvery-grey snake print with contrasting gold zip. The waist band sits high and wide on my waist creating a real hourglass feel to the shape. The skirt is suitably full and made from a thickly textured material that holds the subtle pleats and allows for that real swish and sway that is needed for any full skirt.
I’m wearing a size 18 and the fit is perfect. The skirt could be a tad longer sit sits directly on my knee and I would have preferred it to sit a little further down my calfs. I am 5ft10 so it is rare that a skirt does sit like a true midi skirt on me!
I’ve paired the full skirt with my Ann Summers body (you can see it reviewed here). Pairing a body with a full skirt is one of my favourite combinations as body sit that little bit slimmer against the skin and help to really create that vintage silhouette that I love about full skirts.
Bodies are also that little bit sexy, so tend to lift what is, essentially, a very prim and proper skirt. The sheer element of this floral Ann Summers body really adds more than a little bit of sex appeal.
I love this outfit combinations, especially with the addition of my 50’s inspired courts and it is definitely a go-to look for me during the party season.
I’ve picked out a few more beautiful little full skirts for you all to take a look at …
Which would you chose?
