A Curvy Girl's Guide to Savvy Sale Shopping

A Curvy Girl's Guide to Savvy Sale Shopping

Happy Boxing Day!   I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and got thoroughly spoilt rotten.   I had a wonderful day & have second Christmas yet to come.

Now, the Christmas sales are now in full swing – I’ve been fairly restrained this year and only purchased one item so far (a beautiful Playful Promises Basque that I’ve wanted since first seeing it).   If you need a little bit of style inspiration to aid your own shopping, then you may want to take a look at Friday’s post where I shared some of my favourite looks from the year that are now on sale.

If, like many, you get a little over whelmed with all the sale choices out there, then here are my tips for navigating the sea of discounts without wasting money!

Stock up on basics …

A Curvy Girl's Guide to Sassy Sale Shopping

There are certain items that you can never have to many off … whether it be camisoles, basic tee’s or (like me) polo necks, we all have go to staples that we wear time after time.   These polo necks are just £4.99 each which makes it a perfect time to stock up!

Look for classic items that bridge seasons …

Now is a great time to look forward to transitional spring wear – what’s the point in shelling out on a sequin Christmas skirt that you’re not going to wear until next Christmas (okay, I do this a lot and it is fine) but a more immediate win would be to buy those items that can easily be taken through to spring.   All of these can be layered for warmth now and on their own as warmer days start creeping in.

Play with statement items …

Now is the perfect time to play with those statement style pieces. Whether it’s a full silk skirt, a lace dress, or a velvet blazer  – these are all pieces to build an outfit around without breaking the bank.

Invest in winter coats …

When it’s statistically more likely to snow at Easter than Christmas then it’s safe to say that the coldest weather is yet to come.   I often buy winter coats in the sales – with so many coats being reduced just after Christmas, you can get nice and cosy just in time for February snow!

Do you have any sale tips at all?

Love your selection for ladies with curves. Having good basics is a necessity and I shop them at Mango Violeta as far as I’m concerned. I also appreciate the way Asos presents the clothes with a lot of pictures and a video. It’s super helpful to see how the fabric, shape and colour “live” on a real curvy body.
