On Personal Style

Personal style is something that evolves – it is transitory and ever changing.   I’m very much a mood dresser, wearing things that often match my mood or the season.  I’m definitely chameleon-like in my personal style but there are common threads that hold my wardrobe together as cohesive whole.

Someone once compared me to a fat Kate Middleton – I feel this is fairly accurate, or at least that I am fat Kate Middleton with an added edge.  I have the fashion freedoms to play with texture and shapes that someone married into the Royal family is stripped off.

Yes, I’m definitely quite classic in my style – but lately I have noticed a turn toward more fashion forward pieces.   I’ve definitely become braver in my choices since joining the world of fashion blogging and have moved away from the simple wrap dresses that use to form the basis of every outfit two years ago.    Casual items have snuck into my clothing repertoire and by this I mean casual items worn for things other than comfort – trainers and jeans are now a staple even for brunch dates and girly shopping trips. I have the likes of Danielle Vanier and Becky Barnes for this – they both do casual in such a glamorous way.

I’ve also become braver in wearing items that I previously would have shuddered away from – leather trousers, sheer bodies and crop tops have all worked their way into my wardrobe staples.   Yes, going the world of plus size fashion blogging has definitely broadened my wardrobe horizons in a way I never would have thought.

You can see almost daily outfit pictures (albeit many are views from the mirror) on my Instagram but I thought I’d share some recent looks with you here.   Enjoy …
