I introduced Seriously Sensual last year when I featured one of their amazing slips and a pretty special body chain. I was so impressed with their last range that I was more than happy when they offered my the opportunity to review some of their new product lines.
They seem to have expanded the range since I last looked, and there was so much more choice. I’m having a one piece moment right now, and (outside of work and gym hours) I’m living in teddies and chemises. There were two that particularly stood out at Seriously Sensual: the Lace and Mesh Teddy lace and the Lace Kimono romper.
They’re pretty much the antithesis of one another: vampiric, seductive & naughty vs. sweet, playful, and flirty.
Lace & Mesh Teddy
The lace teddy comes in one size meant to fit 16-20. I am safely in the middle of this size range and the teddy fits perfectly. It has quite a bit of stretch so can see it fitting a size or two bigger, especially as the tap-pant bottoms are pretty much free in size.
The teddy is actually crotchless – made of two fabric pieces that cross over to make the pants and don’t join together in the middle. I’m wearing them with pants underneath in the pictures to save my modesty.
The crossover straps at the back are adjustable and the waist band entirely elastic. It slips on and off easily and I love how it looks – a little bit vintage with the lace and tap-pant combo, made modern with the crossover back and plunging neckline.
The teddy rrps at £38 but is currently on offer for £32. Seriously Sensual runs regular offers so do always keep an eye on those for a little discount!
Lace Kimono Romper
The Lace Kimono Romper is very delightful. Made from a very light and wispy mint lace material, it has scalloped edging to the pants and a low back. The sleeves are oversized to create a dramatic kimono shape and the front neckline plunges to show off the décolletage.
Although this is lingerie, I like it as a beachwear cover up – especially over a plain black bikini. I can really see myself propping up the beach bar in Cuba at the end of the year – I’d pair it with a big floppy sunhat and enjoy the skin soaking through the wispy lace material.
I’m wearing the 3x which is an 18 – 22. I would say that this is a tad on the small size – it’s roomy on me but not oversized so I would say it would be quite a snug fit on someone larger.
The romper is priced at just under £45 which I do think is a little steep. However, at the time of writing this piece is £36 which is much more the price point I would expect for a lace romper/beach cover up.
Over all, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with both of these items and can see myself getting a lot of wear out of both.
I do wish that items like this came in larger sizes though – an 18/20 is barely plus size and it would be nice to see if Seriously Sensual can expand their collection to include some of the large plus size ranges.
