July has been a funny old month. I seem to have spent it plagued with illness. A three day long migraine left my in bed for a week and then continued to linger for pretty much the entire month. I have felt, to be quite honest, exhausted, cranky, headache-y, and just not myself.
In fact, I feel like July has been an almost complete right off and that I wouldn’t be able to share anything with you. Yet, looking back over some of my pictures, and it looks like I’ve done more than I thought. Granted though, work outfits dominated but most people do spend more time working than anything else (such a sad state of affairs).

I’ve been trying to vary my workwear more as I’d slipped into a wardrobe of black trousers, blouse and blazer. It is a great look – and so easy to put together. However, it meant wearing the same items over and over and I’m really trying to make better use of my wardrobe and I really hope that I’ve managed that a little more this month.
July has also included my best friends birthday … which, of course, meant cocktails and dancing.
There was also a great deal of chilling at home – spending time on myself in order to heal and recuperate. A good book always aids this and this month I’ve read Katherine Arden’s, The Bear and the Nightingale which is the most enchanting read and the perfect escapism when simply not feeling well.
Of course, I haven’t been a complete hermit (although I would have liked to be), which means there were some fairly fun casual outfits too, for swanning about the pubs of my village, attending family parties, and heading out to the cinema.
As always, there have been much lingerie … and a few days spent in the sunshine.

I’m really hoping August will be better than July – that I’ll get more chances to take amazing pictures for you all and maybe get to vary my outfits a bit. Sadly, a very manic work schedule means I might struggle with this, but I’ll do my very best for you all.
