Are you enjoying my Valentine’s lingerie look book? I certainly enjoyed putting it together. The whole process of creating a theme around Valentine’s Day, choosing my items, planning the accessories, the photography style, the shoot location … okay so that one may be an exaggeration. I have limited places to take photos in my country cottage. But nevertheless, I loved putting this together and I’m already planning a spring look book for you all.
Today I’m reviewing the Curvy Kate Sheer Joy Balconette bra. It is made from a sheer black mesh with inky blue seams and a floral print in a slightly lighter shade of the blue seams. The Joy is a soft cup bra made with a three part construction that gives great lift and a naturally round shape to your breast tissue.
Three part construction of this kind is my favourite for wearing beneath fitted t-shirts and polo necks because they give a really high carriage to the breast tissue without causing any visible lines or seams. I far prefer them to t-shirt bras which often leave a v-imprint that shows through more body hugging tops.
I’m wearing a size 36H and it is a perfect fit. The band is firm without pinching and the cups are filled without any excess bulging. The side panels of the band come quite high which helps to encases my misplace breast tissue and moves it back towards the cup. The bra, so far, is comfortable and supportive. I’m also wearing the size 18 briefs which are a perfect fit.
The detailing on the bra is what really stands out; the heart pendant nestled in the central gore adds a little whimsy whilst the deep inky pattern is sensual and romantic. It takes an every day bra to something that little more special, making it perfect for Valentine’s lingerie.
The Curvy Kate Joy is available from Brastop, one of my go-tos for beautiful and affordable lingerie, and priced at £48 for the set. Brastop have a great Valentine’s range at the moment, meeting all your Valentine’s lingerie needs!
