It is traditional for valentine’s lingerie to be red.It is the colour of passion, of romance, of blood pumping. Red, for me, is a colour of empowerment.
A bold colour that signifies taking charge and forging my own way. Red lingerie is sexual, but for me sexuality is about empowerment. Long gone are the days when a woman needs to fear sexuality.
I suppose that red lingerie can have a softer side, and this Flirtelle Spiro from Brastop definitely has that. The lace of geometric florals is romantic. The subtle uplift is sensual. The sheer mesh playful. It is really the perfect item for Valentine’s day.
I’m wearing the 36H and it is a near perfect fit. My breast tissue is fully encased in the three-part soft cup; lifted and rounded by the seams. The back band, however, is slightly generous and I need to wear it on the tightest hook. This suggests the Spiro comes up a little on the large side and I would consider sizing down if purchasing this set. I’m wearing the 18 brief and it feels very true to size.
Other than the slight fit issue, the bra is really quite perfect. It is exceptionally comfortable and has been worn for several long days in the office and the dreaded 6 hours of commuting on my London days. It has remained supportive and uplifting with little need for adjustment.
And if red lingerie isn’t your thing, the Spiro also comes in soft pink and black options. It is priced at £32 for the bra and £16 for the brief but, at the time of writing, you can snap both us for just £26.
