I’ve spoken before about simple, classic jewellery being my style.
I’m drawn to small, delicate items that will never go out of style and have a little meaning to them. And today I’m going to be reviewing jewellery that really meets that aesthetic; small, delicate, simple and beautiful. Small and sweet – a little like this post.
Granted, these gorgeous little stud earrings from T H Baker don’t really have any sentimental value to them – but that is because they’ve been sent to me, rather than chosen by a loved one.
But they are very me!
The stud earrings are so delicate, with silver coils interlaced with rose gold and small cubic zirconia’s designed to dazzle from the lobe. I’ve always assumed that silver should never be worn with metals of a different colour but these earrings have changed my mind on that one. They work really well together and the rose gold band makes them pop at a little more.
They’re sterling silver and gold plated and so my ears haven’t turned a mouldy green like they do with cheaper earrings and come with sturdy feeling butterfly clasps. I will, no doubt, lose the backs at some point and so always recommend having stash of spares!
There is also something a little retro feeling about them – I’m pretty certain my Grandma had a pair like this from the days I use to raid her jewellery box for fancy dress. This classically retro feel means that they’re really going to last the distance and be worn year after year, my shirt may change – but my earrings aren’t going to.
And that is the trick to good jewellery, it should last the distance and maintain through changing trends. Fine jewellery should be style – not fashion.
The earrings are priced at £39.95 which I feel is comparable to other sterling silver items of this classic style and quality.
