It is beachwear week here at CurvyGirlThin.
I can’t help it – heading off to Sardinia next month means that swimwear is at the forefront of my mind!
I’ve wanted to go to Sardinia for a long time now but it wasn’t on my travel plans for this year – the focus was more on travelling to places where friends are; Stockholm and Milan were both top of the list. Then I spent an afternoon browsing Easy Jet flights and found ones to Olbia for less than £100 return. They’re over the bank holiday weekend so it would be really rude not to book, right?
The majority of the holiday won’t be spent on the beach; we plan to explore the medieval towns, the mountains and the neolithic heritage of the place. We’re hiring a car, a quintessentially Italian Fiat 500, and driving from Olbia to Alghero for winding Catalan streets before heading to Tempio Pausania for a country B&B in the hills. We’re finishing back in Olbia for the medieval citadel and days spent on boat trips to the local islands.
But who can go to Sardinia and not spend some time on the golden beaches? I’ve also heard there are many lakes to bathe in up in the hills, although they may be a little chilly in May!
I’ve already shared my athleisure bikini inspiration with you but today, I wanted to share something a little more sophisticated. A little more glamorous!
I have long been a fan of simple but bold swimwear with monochrome bikinis and cover ups taking pride of place in my holiday wardrobe. In Cuba last year all but one of my bikinis was black and this year my inspiration is no different.
There is just something very classic about a monochrome bikini; they are chic, fit for all locations, and timeless. This year, I would like just one monochrome number, for posing by a pool or in a spa. It will be paired with the bag of the moment, a round wicker shoulder bag, and paired with a simple white shirt or a flowing, black lace kaftan (the type that can be worn in the bedroom or on the beach). I will, of course, be in my faux-wayfarers or maybe even a floppy hat – after all, monochrome bikinis are made for full hollywood glamour!
They also have an impressive fuller bust bikini selection, stocking brands such as Lepel, Pour Moi?, Panache, and Fantasie; all of whom offer fantastic DD+ swimwear that is both functional and stylish.
Simply Beach also offer really great accessories to help take your bikini from the beach to the bar …

So I guess all that is left to ask is if you’re beach ready this summer?
