I am uninspired!
I think we can blame the weather. The endless grey days have just dragged, leaving me feeling drained and lethargic.
It is supposed to be Spring; there should be sunshine, lambs frolicking and tulips galore. Sadly, the only tulips I’ve seen have been from Tesco’s cut flowers section. I think the snow killed off all the garden-grown ones.
I have a wardrobe of spring clothes ready for sharing with you but no break in the rain to get out and shoot them. I also have a wonderful post planned sharing all my favourite spring/summer lingerie looks. Sadly, the woods I want to shoot in are nothing but a boggy pool – lingerie and wellies shoot anyone?
It is far from the bluebell dream I have envisioned.
I’m in a slump – both in my fashion and my mentality. I am uninspired!
And I think this is reflected in my content the past few weeks. My blog is just not quite what I wanted it to be; my pictures are not as bright and vibrant as I hoped and my writing is just a bit … bleurgh. I haven’t actioned the plans that I set at the start of the year for creating great content that I love and the fact that I’ve not met that goal means that I’m struggling to keep going.
I am loving Instagram more, it has become a micro-blog for me; a platform to share my daily life, my thoughts, and my fashion wish lists, and my inane ramblings. I make it sound so glamorous don’t I? I hope, if you haven’t already, you will follow me there as it is more authentically me – and a little less uninspired!
But I am going to be picking myself up again … and hopefully the weather will to.
I’ve talked about change a lot lately, unsurprising given a new house in a new location with a new job (which starts next week by the way). But change doesn’t need to be big so I’m making some small tweaks to my life that will, hopefully, leave me feeling a little more motivated … a little less uninspired!
Set a Routine
Getting up, showered and dressed in the morning instead of lazing in bed browsing Instagram for hours.
Setting aside time in my week for working on my content or blog. And turning off Netflix to do this.
Do what I enjoy most
Does my blog need to be all about me? I have been most inspired by the scenery around me so expect a bit more photography. I’m also hoping to get a little film camera to document my months.
I also want to share my travels more. Exploring new places or cultures is something that invigorates me but I’ve not really been sharing that on my blog lately – only the outfits that I’ve worn. This probably needs to change.
I’ve always felt more inspired when getting regular exercise. Part of my get up in the morning routine is going to be adding swimming into my regular schedule – it leaves me relaxed, invigorated, and supple feeling. This really helps when it comes to sitting down and focusing on what I want to achieve.
And now for the lingerie …
This beautiful soft cup, plunging bra is Siren by Sculptresse. It is the most beautiful of neutral bras, made from a blush beige material and lace panels, and hemmed by soft gold satin.
The bra is made from a four part construction that lifts the boobs and gives a subtle, rounded cleavage. I’m wearing a 34H and it is a perfect fit, suggesting the back band to be slightly generous.
The cups are deep and the wires fairly narrow give a really protracted shape to the breast. This is quite new for Sculptresse fit as previous bras have been more wide-set in their shape. The Siren shape is a refreshing change and gives fantastic shape, support and comfort.
It is the perfect bra to wear beneath low plunging shirts and the lace is subtle enough to avoid the lumpy lace texture often seen through tighter feeling t-shirts. It is a bra for spring and will be worn a lot as soon as we get some sunshine!
Until next time …
