Empowerment is different for everyone.
It comes in many forms and even with myself, what makes me feel strong and empowered one day can leave me cold the next. And I haven’t felt so empowered lately. I felt a little shrunken into myself. Felt a little not quite myself.
But I’ve had a break – spent time on myself, my new job, done the things that I’ve loved. Walked the dog (for hours on end), got out into the fresh air as much as possible, spent time with friends and family, spent time reading (just for me). And I’m left feeling refreshed, in control of myself, creative and empowered.
I’m ready to create content again, but I’m not going to be pressured to get so much out there so, if you’re missing my posts then make sure you’re following me on Instagram or Facebook where I micro-blog almost daily.
Spring Summer Lingerie Look Book
We should be well into spring/summer by now but I feel like last week was a glimmer of spring, sent to entice us into packing away our winter woolies only for us to need them again this week.
But it is okay, because spring lingerie can be worn all year round. The floral tones of spring are strong and vibrant and that is reflected in the lingerie in this post; strong, vibrant, classic styles that have lifted my chin and drawn my shoulders back a little.
Its amazing how some great fitting, beautiful lingerie can add to that feeling of empowerment.
Candi by Sculptresse
The Candi by Sculptresse is one of my favourite daily bra. The black version is a wardrobe staple of mine, worn continually beneath high-necked and modest plunge clothing items. So I was pleased to see it released in the dark blue laden with vibrant whites, aqua and pink florals. The mesh, polkadot panels breaks up the vibrant print making it playful and flirtatious.
I’m wearing a 36H and it is a great fit, encasing my breast tissue and creating a lifted, rounded shape to the breast which is gently sculpted by the bra’s 3 part construction. The central gore is flush against my sternum and the cups are perfectly filled suggesting the bra to be very consistently sized. The briefs are a mid to mid-rise with full coverage. I’m wearing an 18 and they are a perfect fit.
The cup on this comes up shallower than the majority of Elomi’s bras meaning that I needed to size up to a H cup in order to ensure that my breast tissue was safely encased without risk of the dreaded double boob. The band is a 36 and a perfect fit, sitting low on my back and the central gore sitting flush to the skin between my chest.
I’m wearing it with a thong in size 18 which is great fit and I love the fact this thong still comes with full coverage at the front.
Chi Chi by Sculptresse
Sculptresse have revived the Chi Chi this season in the most beautifully delicate floral print that is a little bit chintzy with the pastel flowers and cream lace.
The fit and construction is very similar to the Candi but has more of a balconette cut than the Candi’s plunge. The bra gives a great, high and rounded shape to the breast. I’m wearing the 36H which is my usual size in Sculptresse that has a slighter firmer band than Curvy Kate and a deeper cut than most Elomi bras.
I’m also wearing 18 brief in a high waisted design.
Curvy Kate Sheer Joy
The Sheer Joy by Curvy Kate is such a great lingerie piece for spring, working beautifully beneath semi-sheer blouses and lacy camisoles.
You can read my full review of it here.
Dionne by Sculptresse
The Dionne by Sculptresse really is my piece-de-resistance …
With a floral tile print, strapping details, and sheer mesh panels this set really is a show stopper.
I’m wearing a 36H and its a great fit with fabulous uplift and subtle cleavage that peers through the strapped details. The Dionne is potentially one of my most comfortable bras, fitting beautifully beneath my go-to-blouses and shirts. The briefs (I’m wearing a size 18) are mid-rise and give full coverage. They are made from a microfibre that minimises VPL.
This is a stunning set and definitely a wardrobe staple – I’m praying they bring is out in another colour option for Autumn!
