I feel like we’ve been waiting for spring for a long time now.
I cannot believe that it is May and I’ve still, mostly, been wondering about in wooly jumpers and the mouldy old wax.
But today feels a little fresher, a little brighter, and a little warmer. I’m not needing to wear a waterproof … or wellies … which is something.
This week I’ve spent a little bit of time pulling out my spring wardrobe, packing away my woolies (although some came straight back out), and giving items a wash and a refresh. There are lots of items there that just don’t suit my style anymore, things that I feel I have grown out of as my style has evolved a lot over the past year. Much has gone to the charity shop but I have some real gems that I will probably list on my Depop at some point – you can find me @CurvyGirlThin on the app.
As you know, I’m doing a capsule wardrobe thing, reducing my clothing consumption and minimising the amount of stuff in my life. As part of this, I’ve really taken stock on what I love to wear and what make me feel most … well … me!
As warmer weather looms, I’ve noticed that I’m much more drawn to smart separates; sleek blouses, awkward length jeans, and smartly tailored trousers. I’m working in a much more relaxed environment than the past 5 years, one where trainers are considered dressy and I think this is really influencing my style and allowing me to dress for my mood and personality more.
This spring/summer, I love the idea of slouching about in pastel trousers, white trainers, and a blouse. Its a look that is as classic as it is easy and it will be so versatile, switching out tailoring for wide leg jeans or the shirt for a body or camisole on warmer days.
So, whilst I pack for Sardinia … and a host of travel content … enjoy my current spring wishlist (you click on any of the images to shop) and stay tuned for seeing some of these styled in the coming weeks.
