Summer

Summer

Oh Summer, you are so delightful.

What a streak of good weather we have been having.    I’m looking tanned, well … freckled …  something that rarely happens here in the UK.    My hair has turned curly and my skin is blemish free – aided by the vitamin D from being outside all the time.   Most of my time has been spent outside, soaking up the rays whilst walking the dog or feasting on Sardinian food from my roof top terrace.   Lunch times are spent on the coast (the joys of working in Devon) and weekend coffees are had on the bank of the river whilst the dog goes paddling.

Summer is a time for lazy relaxation and I think this is reflected in my summer style.   I scarcely wear make up, I favour simple jersey dresses and oversized t-shirts, or a light weight shirt and skirt, ripped jeans and a plain body.   Summer style is just easy.

At some point, hopefully soon, I will share my summer capsule wardrobe with you – a carefully curated collection inspired by minimalism trends.   But, until then, I thought I’d share with you a super easy-breezy outfit that I have been wearing a lot in this delightfully warm weather.

One of my favourite things about summer style is the lack of need to consider your outfit.   A plain jersey dress needs nothing but a pair of sneakers or sandals and some simple jewellery.    You don’t need to think about layering up with jackets or scarves.  You can just throw on an item and go.

The earrings I’m wearing are Swarovski Solitaire stud earrings that just embody the easy, relaxed, chic feel that, for me, embodies summer style.   In fact, these little silver and crystal earrings are pretty much all that I’m wearing at the moment.

And the tan?   That is mostly natural – but the legs are courtesy of Superdrug’s Insta-grad tan oil in colour light.

I love this dress! I also tend to dress down in summer because I always get too hot and bothered wearing much! More often than not I’ll just throw on a plain jersey dress too. Last summer, I lived in a striped jersey dress from H&M – I pretty much wore it all summer haha x

I love your Adidas trainers – such a shame they are sold out. I know what you mean about getting freckly as opposed to tanned too!

That dress suits you so much! The weather has been amazing hasn’t it? I love not having to put on tons of layers too.

Love all your freckles coming out, my mummy has pale pasty skin and the only thing that makes her look tanned is her freckles! Lovely dress x
