I am a strong believer that there are certain items that we all need in our wardrobe. A simple LBD, a snuggly jumper, a beautifully fitted blazer, and a piece of evening wear that makes you feel a billion dollars.
And that is exactly what the Coast Curve range is all about – making the plus size woman feel utterly fabulous about herself. The whole range is delightful; classic formal styles, beautifully tailored in a range of vibrant colours and exotic prints.
Often when a straight-sized brand brings out a plus size range, it is somewhat lacking. It misses the mark somehow, sacrificing the brands aesthetic that I have admired from afar to create clothes that they think the plus size market wants. The Coast Curve range, however, is everything that you expect from the main range; wedding and black tie worthy gowns with sophisticated, timeless, feminine shapes.
This Naima Bardot Jumpsuit just screams Coast. The tailoring is sleek, the finish immaculate, and the colour vibrant.
It is originally designed for the over-sized bardot collar to cover the body of the jumpsuit. The look is whimsical, floaty and romantic but not quite for me. I love the structure of the bodice that tucks in at the waist and has a very subtle boned feel to it with darts that support the chest and give a fantastic shape. It felt a shame not to show that off so I tucked the front of the cuff into the neckline to create the silhouette you see in these images.
The range comes in a size 20 – 26 so I’m wearing this jumpsuit in a size 20. It is a tiny bit too big for me but I like the slightly oversized feel to the look – balanced by the cinched waist. It means that the trousers are super wide and the chest isn’t too figure hugging giving it a slightly more relaxed sophistication that is perfect for summer.
The jumpsuit is also tall friendly – it is so rare for me to find a wide-legged jumpsuit that is long enough for me to wear heels but the length on this is perfect for a small 3 to 4 inch heel.
The Coast Curve Naima jumpsuit is priced at £129 making it a real investment piece for all those weddings, fancy dinners, family gatherings and events where something a little more spectacular is needed.
I certainly know its going to be a staple of my wardrobe for years to come.
