Lingerie is as seasonal as clothing. For summer, lighter coloured lingerie reigns supreme beneath cotton t-shirts and floaty summer dresses. Come autumn, lingerie is dictated by slim-fitting turtlenecks and high-waisted jeans.
Autumn has always been an inspiring season for me and not just because I get to wear the most beautiful lingerie hidden beneath a prim and proper turtleneck. The colours of autumn are exceptionally beautiful and I’ve spent hours out in the woods capturing the change in seasons on camera. Not only that, but I’ve become obsessed with funghi. I have spent far too long trying to identify the edible types – although I’m still a little too nervous to try any.
Given this, it only felt fitting to the take the woods again for shooting my autumn lingerie lookbook. Regular readers will know that I did this last year – shooting in the woods around a stream in rural Oxfordshire where I use to live. The woods I’ve shot this collection in are far more primaeval. Tinged with the wilderness of Dartmoor.
This autumn, for me, is about minimalism. But not in the scandi-way. Instead, my kind of minimalism is about a bold colour and a simple silhouette. And this is reflected in my lingerie choices for this autumn; the bold hues of red in classic shapes, easily disguised (when dressed) beneath a cashmere sweater or a sharply tailored blazer.
Now, we all know I love a statement piece. So why not make it your lingerie?
The Flirtelle Swirl
The Flirtelle Swirl is a beautiful, deep rouge fuller cup bra with a lace panel. The design is classic but the colour really pops and the three-part construction of the cup will give a high, pert boob that is perfect beneath higher-necked tops.
It is also one of those bras that will look phenomenal come winter and Christmas. After all, who doesn’t love a red party dress worn with matching lingerie?
The Curvy Kate Dragonfly
The Dragonfly by Curvy Kate is a repeat design in their seasonal collections. This autumn, they have released the set in a deep red wine tone that just screams of nights curled beneath a pile of blankets with a bottle of Malbec. Of course, it looks great with velvet blazers too.
I have this bra in a babydoll and was keen to try it in the soft cup plunge which is far more practical for my wardrobe of separates.
The plunge shape is great for pairing with v-neck bodies, worn with high waisted jeans for those cosy evenings by the local pub’s fireplace. In fact, the deep red lace overlaying a sheer mesh cup really does remind me of the comfy, leather sofas of my favourite gin bar!
Sirens by Pour Moi
A lacy black bra should be in any seasonal lingerie bra. And the Sirens by Pour Moi Sofia bra is definitely one to make an impact.
The black lace overlaying dusky pink satin with a lace central gore is pure opulance. The has a subtle plunge to the shape and side support pannels give a projected shape. Bras of this ilk look great beneath the higher necks of autumnal dressing.

Of course, having just one of these beautiful items in your wardrobe would be sufficient to merge with your daily underwear favourites. So, which one would you choose?
